  • How to Start your Spa

  •   Frequently Asked Questions

If you can't find your question below, please contact us for personnal assistance.

What is the spa pump's horsepower (HP) rating?
There are two different HP ratings you should be aware of: "Continuous Operating HP" and "Brake HP". "Continuous Operating HP" is the amount of HP the motor is capable of producing while the spa is in operation. This is the meaningful rating. Brake HP is the momentary HP the motor produces at startup, before dropping to Continuous HP.
How often should a spa be drained?
Depending on your usage and sanitizing system, a well-maintained spa or hot tub should be drained and refilled every two to four months. This is necessary due to the excessive amounts of total dissolved solids, which make it difficult to maintain sanitizer effectiveness and water balance.
Why does my water temperature fluctuate?
A poorly insulated temperature sensor unit could cause this. The sensor may actually be affected by changes in air temperature. Other causes include: clogged filters, defective thermostats, contactors, or relays.
What is the best Spa Sanitizer?
Bromine is the prominently preferred sanitizer due to the fact that it is less irritating to the skin and eyes and does not have the strong odor of chlorine. Bromine is as effective as chlorine but evaporates more slowly in hot water.
Why should I use shocking compounds?
Shocking eliminates suspended organic matter which is the primary food source for bacteria. Sanitizing without shocking does not ensure clean water. A non-chlorine, oxygen-based shocking compound should be used regulary.
What is the the ideal pH level for my Spa?
Your pH can range from 7.2 to 7.8. 7.4 to 7.6 is ideal.
How can I adjust my pH levels?
The pH level can be raised with products containing sodium carbonate. The pH level can be lowered with products containing sodium bisulfate.
